From honoring the wants and needs of legacy residents to welcoming newcomers, we are dedicated to cultivating equitable engagement platforms that empower our neighbors to shape the future of Highlander. Community feedback is at the core of our decisions, whether it’s helping us decide on events, shaping the programs and services we offer, or even determining the number of bedrooms in our housing units.

Neighborhoods are among the most impactful units of change, and our hyperlocal approach to neighborhood revitalization is intended to build a community that not only meets the needs of today but preserves the legacy of those who have long called Highlander home. Highlander’s boundaries are defined by Parker Street to the south and Lake Street to the north, between 29th and 31st Streets. With the support of the Choice Neighborhoods Implementation grant and our ongoing single-family housing development, our footprint has expanded as far north as Spencer Street, extending between 33rd and 28th Streets.
